Lightning slicing through a cloud! [29 Jul 2009|07:57pm] Another lightning storm passed through today. Taking photos of lightning during the day is a bit harder. Since it's brighter outside, I couldn't use a long shutter speed (like 10-30+ seconds).. at least not without a ND filter or something. So to get everything exposed correctly, I had to use a shutter speed of under a second. Which meant I needed to be quicker on my feet (or, finger)! Also during the day, the results aren't as "dramatic", since there isn't a dark background for the lightning to be against. I did capture a couple shots though. Including this one of a lightning bolt slicing through a cloud! And this one: 1 comment|post comment
